2014 Toyota Sequoia
Using these numbers, as it seems this is what it is almost every time I fill it up: 22 gallons (still has a couple left in it, but I don't like waiting for the light to turn on), 15mpg average, regular gas at $3.75/gallon.
Please include the #'s you're using as well.
15mpg * 22 gallons = 330 miles/tank
22 gallons * 3.75 = $82.50
100,000/330 = 303 fill ups.
303 * 82.50 = $24,997.50
So, $25k. Ouch.

Ugh, that hurts my insides.

My dads van gets about that mileage and its at 93k miles. So that means we've spent almost 25 grand on gas in the last 15 years

You could by a FiST for that $$

No wonder Ferraris eventually appreciate so much. You're just getting the gas money back!

Uhm...lets see.....I'll generously give myself 15 mpg. Car takes premium so lets say about $4 a gallon.
100,000/15 = 6666.66
6666.66*4= $26,666.66
Thankfully my car only has 40K miles. And i've owned it since 2006, back when gas was cheaper.

If I paid $3.75 for gas for 100k miles, I would be paying nearly $32k for it.

I prefer not to think of these things. Better to not realize how much it adds up to...

Or an FR-S (almost)... or a V6 Mustang

252 fillups of $36.30 = $9147 (NOTE: This is for my Note. Not my Panther. so far its getting 36 mpg).

Tell him that!

I just did the math and told him we've taken 417 trips to the gas station in that thing and spent $23,500 on gas for it

oops sorry. It's a Nissan 350Z, 2006. I live in the city and the city is hilly, hence the crap mpg.

Let's see the Silverado has about 140k. It's always been filled with premium, so we'll say an average of $3.15 over the last 10 years. It has a 26 gallon tank. About 15 MPG average.
390 mile range/tank
$81.90 a tank
359 fill-ups
$29,402
That's not terrible actually.

What was his reaction?

O_o I thought Silverados take regular?

My dad programmed it to take premium for "Performance"

Gas was cheaper 15 years ago though. :(

It was interesting to him. Not much else.

LOL I think I win...
39MPG AVG (60% Highway, 25% Country (KANSAS FTW), 15% City
39mpg * 14.5 Gallons = 565.5 miles/tank
14.5 Gallons * $3.50 per gallon (Diesel) = 50.74 (approximately)
100,000 miles/ 565.5 =177 fill ups
177 * 48.50 (usually what it costs LOL) = $8584.07
$8.6K WOW
![]() 08/28/2014 at 23:16 |

Not by much though. Around the time we bought the car, Gas was hovering around the 3 dollar mark

18k in the pickup, 12k in the wagon

1986 Toyota MR2
30mpg (maybe a little low) x 10.8 gallons = 324 miles per tank
10.8 gallons x $3.75 = $40.50
100,000/324 = 308.7 fill ups
308.7 * 40.50 = $12,502.35
And that sucker has 203,000 miles on it

'95 4Runner, 3.slow w/automatic. That math was based on my last 1000 mile trip in it, in which I used 85 gallons of fuel on the highway. So if 85 gallons gets me 1000 miles, it would take 8500 gallons to get me 100k miles. 8500*3.75 is $31,875 to be exact.

yall need Honda CB300F's
$4687.50 to drive 100k miles

I could only imagine what happens when you account for inflation and market changes. Depending how long it can take you to reach 100k, gas might bump up quite a bit. Another rate hike like what happened in the mid 00's and you could be wishing it was only $25k.

1994 Honda Prelude 2.0i,
100000/25MPG=4000 gallons
$10 per gallon (yes, you heard right!)
4000*$10=$40,000
...every day I miss the company car Golf TDI Blue Motion I had when I first moved to Norway, 68 MPG I could coax out of that thing if I drove it right. Why won't they let that come to the USA? I would buy it in a heartbeat when I moved back home!

Taco: $14000
Malibu: $12500
That's using an avg. of $3.50/gal. I paid $3.26 this AM...

Our Odyssey get almost exactly the same 25k. It only averages 15mpg.

The liberty (V6) only averaged 13 mpg and had a 20 gallon tank. That was our around town car.

Yeah I believe that. We used to have a 2006 Liberty and a 2011 Wrangler.
